Founded in 2022, The Hoʻoilina Foundation is federally certified by the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) as a Native Hawaiian Organization (NHO). Hoʻoilina fortifies the Native Hawaiian culture, community and families through enduring opportunity and prosperity, and the perpetuation of Native Hawaiian culture. Under SBA regulations (13 CFR § 124.110), NHOs are non-profit organizations authorized to participate in the 8(a) Business Development program, allowing them to own firms approved as NHO-Owned Small Businesses. The business activities of NHOs in the 8(a) program are intended to principally benefit Native Hawaiians.

As an organization committed to enriching Native Hawaiian Communities, we encourage others to support causes that align with their values, whether in economic opportunity, education advancement, leadership development, technical and engineering skill development, workforce enablement, or personal and community development. To achieve our mission and vision, Hoʻoilina strategically partners with trusted organizations and pillars in the Hawaiʻi community, leveraging the knowledge, resources, platforms, and networks of our partners to propel positive impact.
